Swansea is Wales' second-largest city, an ideal base for exploring south-west Wales, there's also much on offer for visitors in Swansea itself. The area is well served by an hourly rail link to London and Cardiff, the M4 motorway and sea links to Ireland. Swansea is approximailty 40miles west of Wales' Captial City of Cardiff.
Swansea has a long history, and is also evolved rapidly in recent years. The City Centre has extended seaward into the award-winning Marina and Maritime Quarter, where you'll find attractions including the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre and the LC leisure complex and waterpark.
In the heart of the City Centre, you'll find a good variety of shops including Swansea Market, the largest indoor market in Wales, where you can sample and buy local delicacies such as cockles, locally-caught fresh fish and locally-reared meat, laverbread, and of course our traditional welshcakes.
